Senior Capstone

My senior design team successfully built, engineered, and tested a working scaled-down prototype of an original, innovative EVTOL hoverboard concept. The design utilizes a split servo-actuated rotating frame, integrated flight cameras, and translational control.

In my Practical Electrical Engineering course, I designed and programmed a golf putt speed measurement device, which records and provides real-time feedback on putt speeds to help golfers improve their putting technique.

In my Prototyping and Fabrication course, I designed a mechanically-operated interactive art piece that showcases various fabrication techniques, such as laser cutting and etching, plasma cutting, and assembly.

Mechanical Elements

My team aimed to design a geartrain with an 80:1 reduction ratio, delivering 12,000 lb-in of torque at 10–20 RPM while meeting safety factors for both first-cycle and fatigue life. The final conceptual design features 8 spur gears across multiple shafts, optimized for size, strength, and efficiency.
